Sometimes "wrong" is much more compelling

78 Photography Rules for Complete Idiots.

Seriously, some of the wrong images are so much better.

Photo Shoot-Kiehle Gallery-Sean Smuda

Monday, Nov. 2 at 2:30 pm, Sean Smuda -- website -- will be doing a photo shoot in the Kiehle Gallery for a new work in his ongoing Dreams and Allegories series.

He is looking for participants willing to wear hunter’s outfits and become part of the work. You will need to bring your own outfits, - blaze orange or camouflage is OK. Basically his idea is to have hunters represent art patrons positioned in relation to his Blueprint series as he climbs a ladder with a declining Dow Jones chart around his neck.

If you would be interested in participating, please let know Prof. Bill Gorcica (wagorcica@stcloudstate.edu) know so that he can keep a tally of the number of people and give more information.

So You Want to Major in Art, Music, Dance, Writing or Theatre,
But Then What?

This free panel discussion is intending for all high school and college students interested in exploring a career as a professional artist and/or arts administrator. Parents of students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Date: Sunday, October 4, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Location: MCAD, 2501 Stevens Ave. Minneapolis
Registration: Free, but attendees should pre-register online at www.springboardforthearts.org

Parents want to guide their children toward college and career choices that will be rewarding. Sometimes parents and students are steered away from careers in the arts because of the common misconception that one cannot make a living as an artist. This workshop will help both students and parents better understand the options and how best to plan for and support a decision to pursue an education and a life in the arts- visual, theatrical, musical, design, literary, performance - our panel of local working artists in a variety of disciplines will talk about their career in the arts and answer your questions.

If you have questions, please contact nikki@springboardforthearts.org
